This painting was the result of some intense encouragement i.e. nagging, of one of my dear friends, Kris Tibbitts, who is apparently a rooster-phile. For years he begged me to paint a rooster, and so I, finally, did.
The name was spurred (no pun intended) by two things, the incredible background, and the fact that my son Mitch, called a local restaurant Cosmic Chicken, because he could not pronounce Cosmic Kitchen, which was the real name. It was Homer, Alaska people...land of hippies and granola crunchers... if you know, you know.
This was an intensely happy painting for me. I encourage you to go to my Instagram page and listen to the tune that goes with it. I guarantee it will brighten your day.
This is the first of the Funky Chicken series. Be on the lookout for number 2!

I love the Cosmic Chicken. Please let me know if you will have a print of this, as I would love to give one to my daughter who absolutely loves chickens and roosters! By-the-way, I hope you and your friend had a great time in Michigan!
